LETRAC stands for Language Engineering for the Translator Curricula. It’s a research project funded by the DG XIII (Direction General) of the European Commission.
The strong need for qualified personnel moved LISA (Localisation Industry Standards Association) to sponsor this effort to promote training for internationalizers and localizers all over the world.
In this paper the author presents a course on the use of a machine assisted translation system to translate LSP texts. Half of the course focused on the trasnlation of legal texts and the other half on economy texts and it was offered in the context of a post-graduate porgram at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra
